On Defining Intelligence
u-had-me-at-reoow replied to your post: On Intelligence
i think a passion for learning is important, but if it takes you a long time to understand something, whereas it takes someone else a shorter time … stuff like that.
It seems like I have missed an important point in my previous post.
It would depend on how you define intelligence.
I used to think it was whatever those IQ tests measure...

On Intelligence
If I were to tell adult family friends, “Oh, she’s really loves going to school and learning,” they nod and smile politely, all the while assuming that the girl I mentioned doesn’t have a high GPA/SAT/ACT. But If I were to say something like, “She got a 2400 on her SAT,” they make excited exclamations:
“Wow!”
“Congratulations!”

i understand that you’re excited about your colleges or whatever, and it’s understandable if you share to the world “yeah i got into my dream school!” or “my first college acceptance!”

I think about books and fictional characters a lot, especially right after a finish a good book. Recently, I can’t stop thinking about After Dark by Haruki Murakami even though I finished the book months ago.
There’s no plot, just a detailed sketch of interactions between strangers and acquaintances. It bothers me how there are so many loose ends at the end, but at the same time,...
I’m really sorry if I come off as a creeper if I like something you posted from ages ago. I’m clearing out my likes, because I am a like-whore right now. Sometimes, I accidentally unlike something that I actually like (or I just get indecisive about what I like) and then I have to go back and relike it.

Am I the only one that does this?
Sometimes, when I see someone about to sneeze, I stare at them really hard and make my eyes super big like this:
For some reason, that makes them lose the urge to sneeze which is really amusing, because they did all that prep (the eyebrow contortion, the mouth opening, the eye squinting) for such an anticlimactic ending.
I just did that to my mom two times in a row. I’m on a roll today.

This week has not been a good drink week.
On Wednesday, I stopped by the Cupertino Library to get books for class. I was going to go to Bitter & Sweet to try out their Red Velvet Latte, but I ended up getting a regular coffee from Coffee Society. Gross watered down shit. I had to add in some mocha mix at work to make it taste better.
